Happy Retirement, Coach

No one can argue the man knows basketball.  Fiery temper blah, blah, blah.  Who hasn't blown up then, regretted it a little later? He did a lot for the university & for the men he coached.  Indiana ran one of the cleanest programs in the country over his tenure & he contributed so much to the image (for better or worse) of Indiana basketball history.  Heck, chairs never had so much publicity.  And he's the coach I think of when Gene Hackman is making me cry in Hoosiers.  (Plus, he was always really complimentary to the band - when he was signing copies of his book for Amy & I, he said he told the Texas Tech band they had something to live up to.  How very cool is that?  And you know what?  There isn't a doubt in my mind that he said that.  So I'm easy.)  I'm glad to see he went when he was ready this time.   And you've got to admit, the man was fun to watch.  I have always appreciated a good smartass.
