The Perfect Storm
I got an email from Kim today that prompted this.
I went out dancing Saturday night. I hadn't been out in AGES (dancing, not just, you know, out) so I was game. Now here's the thing. We started our night at the anniversary party for MODA FG. They use our frames from time to time for shoots. The party was amazing! The food & drinks were fantastic, as was the fashion show. A nice black runway cut through the center of the room, with people pulling (fierce) poses on either side. Case in point, this guy:
Smoking hot, right? Does he remind you of anyone with his active brooding? And yes, I TOTALLY TAKE PICTURES OF STRANGERS. Don't judge.
Anyway,
When the party was breaking up, Michelle decides she wants to meet up with her friend Tim at Transit. I say OK, let's get our dance on. The girls didn't come out to play for nothing.
We were there for about 15 minutes when I turned to Michelle and said, "Um, we left a party full of beautiful people for a club full of....not." Please believe me when I say were were the hottest pieces in that place. Which would explain how our fun dancy times quickly disintegrated into trying to stay afloat amidst a perfect storm of men I am in no way attracted to.
Honestly, it was a lesson in how many different inflections of the word 'DUDE!?' I could use in one night. Apparently some guys are genuinely shocked that we ladies don't welcome any and every attempt for a dancefloor fondle. I know, shocking!
All in all, it was a very fun, very surreal night. If you'd like to hear me do my favorite accent of the night from the guy that asked me to, "baybee, sho mee sum dans mooovs," you have to catch that in person. It's worth it.

Cullen's
Srsly, you can't make this up. This is the bar beside the Music Box where we'll be seeing How to Be shortly. Having a beer & killing time. Ha! And Joe Hastings just walked inside. The composer of the soundtrack I have in my bag right now. Ridiculous.
And we're trying to avoid gaggles of girlies taking pictures posing. At least mine is one the sly cuz that's how I roll.

I am a bad blogger
But I spend oodles of time on the interwebs. Doing what? Well, playing on YouTube, emailing, chatting, and the like. But most of the time?
Reading fanfic.
That's right. I said it. I can't stop. It's an addiction. And one that I happily share (right Kim?). Yes, there's the smutty goodness, but there are also honestly good stories (or at least good writing). Now grammar/punctuation mostly take one for the team, but if you can get past that, YOU WILL LURVE IT. Fr srs. Want a recommendation? A nice gateway fic to kill time & see what all the fuss is about? I. Will. Hook. You. Up.
I held out. When it was offered to me, I scoffed. "Um, I'm not really into that, thanks." Shame on me. I now check my email obsessively for updates, then send out a mass text (trying to beat Emily) to my girlies so we can squee & awww & *tear* together. It really is glorious. Beth & I actually made Valentine's care packages - complete with homemade cards (think glue & glitter) and t-shirts - all revolving around 2 specific fics (the two best, IMHO). We have developed our own perverse language. We are in our own little bubble & quite happy.
I feel like I'm in middle school all over again. I'm going to start telling fortunes with that little folded up paper gizmo.

No No No No No No!
I mean honestly. Is this really necessary? Remake all the crappy movies you want, but leave one of my all time favorites alone! Gah!

Who would you choose?
If I could have dinner & 'communicate' with one person, it would be Paul McCartney.

Merry Christmas to all!
This is quite possibly the worst movie tie-in ever, but shows the extent of the crazy fandom (from which I mostly exclude myself).
Don't be surprised when you get this for Christmas Kim, Kris & Amy. I wonder if it comes with the cheesy windchime sound effect....
